Linear Equations in One Variable
Some
Important facts:
1. An
equality which involves one or more literal numbers is called an equation.
2. If
the highest power of the variable involved is one, the equation is called a
linear equation.
3. In
case of solving the equation, we have:
(i)
Add the same number to both sides of the
equation.
(ii)
Subtract the same number from both sides of
the equation.
(iii)
Multiply both side of the equation by the
same number.
(iv) Divide both side of the equation by the same
(non-zero) number.
